Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Born Again Pit Bull Rescue! Volunteering with us is rewarding, but on-boarding new people is a time commitment for everyone involved so we want to be clear upfront on who we are and what we need. Understanding our role in the community will help you decide if we're a good match.
Born Again Pit Bull Rescue saves lives by keeping dogs out of local shelters through spay and neuter assistance, owner and shelter support programs, and community education. Our community programming includes Snip Your Pit, our spay and neuter assistance program; Full Bellies Fund, our food bank program; and Pit Stop & Adopt, our shelter and owner networking program.
BAPBR does not have a physical shelter, so our programs are designed to support dogs in our local community as well as dogs in rural and coastal communities, where shelters typically house high populations of pit bull-type dogs, receive low foot traffic and operate on thin budgets.
Most of our work is geared towards program operations, events, advocacy, education and partner shelter support. We don't do much hands-on dog care or training work.
We support a balanced life and want to make sure anyone interested in helping us has the time available to do so. Our volunteers typically spend 10-15 hours per week supporting the organization (more during event and fundraising campaigns).
We are a small group and not able to respond to all applications. If it looks like you are a good fit for a position we will be in touch within two weeks.
Sound good? Let's go!
