I love to be the center of attention

Can you make me your star?

Name: Pippi

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Sex: Female (Spayed)

Current Age: Young adult, approximately 4 years old

Current Size: 75 pounds

Dogs? I prefer calm, polite dogs with good social skills. I need slow, one-on-one dog introductions. Barking dogs are too overwhelming for me, so please keep me safe from dog parks.

Cats? I need a cat-free home.

Children? I love children, but in a family I wouldn’t want one too small. I’m not mouthy when I play, but I’m a big girl with really big paws and sometimes I forget my own strength. I can probably live with kids 8 and older.

Activity Level: Please, please, please can we go for daily walks together? Those are my favorite! When the weather is really bad, I’ll settle for nose work or other positive training games indoors.

Background: I joined the BAPBR Pit Stop Program on May 23, 2014. Prior to that, I was living at the shelter in Multnomah County, but I didn’t do well in the kennel environment. Fortunately, my foster parents spotted me and decided to take me home and make me their special girl!

Training: I have impeccable manners in the house: I’m housebroken, I don’t destroy things (not even my plush toys!), I stay off furniture, and I don’t bark, beg, or counter-surf. I know all my basic commands and I’m crate-trained. I actually prefer to be in my crate if I’m left home alone for a long period (4-6 hours is no problem). I’m also an excellent co-pilot on road trips! I’m currently working on containing my excitement when I see squirrels or other dogs on walks. If you can reward me with treats or a friendly, happy voice, then I aim to please!

Ideal home: I’m looking for a family, couple, or single guardian with a secure fenced backyard. I’m a delightfully calm, smart, and sweet girl. I need a quiet home with a forever family who understands my sensitive nature. I love walks, and if you like to drive, I love car rides! I need daily exercise, positive training games, and the proper guidance and reward-based training to help me walk politely.
