Have you ever seen such soulful, expressive, eyes?

We’re guessing not — meet the lovely Isabella!

Name: Isabella

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier

Sex: Female (Spayed)

Current Age: Young adult, approximately 2 - 3 years old

Current Size: 50 pounds

Dogs? I prefer calm, polite dogs with good social skills. I would prefer to be in a home with a nice, well socialized, non fearful/shy, male dog my size.

Cats? I am okay with cats

Children? No kids please; I prefer the company of laid-back adults.

Activity Level: My energy level is medium, and I’m going to need a home that can provide me with at least 30+ minutes of play and exercise per day and structured training.

Background: I joined the BAPBR Pit Stop Program on June 15, 2014. Prior to that, I was a stray, where I lived in the woods for about a month, surviving on my own every day after being dumped there! While I was in the midst of trees and forested area, there was luckily a woman who lived out there who was nice enough to feed and give water to me. Because a life out there can be scary it took a lot of effort from rescue volunteers to finally catch me, but I am now safe and sound in foster care and learning what it's like to be a beloved family member!

Training: With the help of Cecelia Towner, my foster mom and trainer at Trusting the Heart Dog Training and Animal Communication, I’ve gained all sorts of basic training and relationship-building skills: I am housebroken and know sit and I am currently working on stay. I can be left home alone for 4 hours a day, so a work-from-home mom or rotating work schedule would be best for me. I can get nervous about life and transitions, so we will need to go very slow with my foster-to-adopt transition. My potential new family will receive private in-home training sessions with Cecelia Towner at Trusting the Heart Dog Training.

Ideal home: My perfect home would include a single lady (I love the ladies!) or a couple. I’ve not had any exposure to men and they are very scary to me, so I would like a ladies-only home! My new family must be local to the Portland/Vancouver area (required for post adoption and transition support) and must have a completely fenced-in, secure yard.

Please note: Isabella’s adopters will need to be willing and able to sign a BAPBR foster-to-adopt contract for a minimum of 30 days while BAPBR offers training support and final vetting services. Adopter must live in the Portland, Oregon or Vancouver, Washington area.

Adoption fee: $200
